Group or Independent Tours especially designed for Quilters, Embroiderers, Knitters, Spinners and Weavers.

On these tours travelers will have the opportunity to meet their creative counterparts in New Zealand or Australia by visiting guilds and groups, attending Workshops, Symposia, Conventions, Shows and other related events while also experiencing the scenic and cultural highlights of these destinations.  

Tours for groups as small as 10 or less can be arranged including guide, accommodation, meals, transport, scenic attraction entrances, visits to fabric and yarn stores, special workshops, meetings with local groups and registration for special events.


Independent self drive itineraries can be designed including rental car, accommodation, meals, entrances to attractions, meetings with local groups and special event registrations. These itineraries are very detailed giving you all the information you will need such as contact information for Guilds, length of travel time for each leg, suggested optional side trips and activities, good restaurants and coffee shops along the way, and recommended shopping stops, fabric and yarn stores etc.

New Zealand Quilting Tour

April 4 – April 23, 2011

Escorted by Gail Garber, noted quilter, tutor and tour leader from New Mexico, this tour features the 2011 Remarkables Symposium in Queenstown New Zealand.  Enroute to the Symposium travelers will visit quilters, quilt studios and textile artists on North and South Islands, attend a local guild meeting, participate in a special program by Maori weavers.   They will experience the scenic and cultural highlights of New Zealand including the West Coast glaciers, Waitomo Caves, an overnight cruise on Milford Sound, Te Papa Museum, the Antarctic Centre and a Maori hangi feast and cultural experience.
